5 Ways to Jumpstart Your Day For Maximum Productivity

Written By Melanie McConnell

Do you ever just wake up on the wrong side of the bed, and nothing seems to be going

your way? Sometimes things are out of our control, and there’s really no way to go around it. Some things, however, we do have control over. Here are 5 simple tips you can do to make sure you have a great and productive day.

  1. Plan your day before it even starts. Have a glance at your calendar the night before and create a schedule. Know what to expect, so you waste less time during the day figuring out what to do next. Having structure is crucial as it allows you to tackle the most important things first.

  2. Exercise first thing in the morning. Early workouts will help with energy, mood, and focus. Even if it’s just a brisk walk, get your body moving and your heart pumping.

  3. Have a big, balanced breakfast. There’s a reason why people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A balanced meal will help you feel fuller longer. Breakfast replenishes blood sugar levels, which helps provide energy and improves concentration.

  4. Plan your outfit the night before. Make one less decision in the morning. If all else fails, at least you’ve got on a great outfit! Bonus points if you also leave out everything you’ll need for the day by the door: your handbag, things to return, an umbrella if there’s rain in the forecast. Rather than scramble to find your stuff in the morning, take time to lay it out the night before when you’re not in a rush.

  5. Avoid your phone. Spend the first part of your day getting ready and not looking at your phone. Looking at it loses your focus on what is most important, YOU!
